Lady Diver Magazine
Dear Lady Divers, my name is Karma Jewell Crampton. I am an active PADI Dive Master here in sunny San Diego California. When I was younger I would often wonder what sort of things played beneath the waves. My love for the ocean fueled my passion to get certified in scuba diving back in the year of 2000. Since then I have had the chance to discover so much of the oceans treasures. Wow, nine years really flies when you’re having fun diving. Recently I realized that more and more women are getting involved with the fantastic sport of scuba diving. It was then that I was inspired to put together a magazine for the Lady Diver.
During my years as a diver I have explored many dive sites up and down the California coast, as well as The Channel Islands, the warm Caribbean, and Hawaii. I have had the chance to crew on boats from Ventura to La Jolla. One thing led to another and here I am today a very happy dive master. One of my most fulfilling accomplishments as a diver is volunteering at the Birch Aquarium. I would like to share my experiences and the experiences of others with women scuba divers around the globe.
Lady Diver Magazine hopes to bring inspiration and education to other divers. We plan to have women’s gear reviews, travel, locale dive information, fitness for diving and much more. We take pride in going green by creating an on line paperless magazine that is free to our readers. Our first issue should be published some time this year. Until then we hope you enjoy our blog. Please feel free to email us any time with comments, suggestions or request about Lady Diver Magazine. We look forward to making new friends and dive buddies to share our adventures with in Lady Diver Magazine.

Just discovered your site and love what you are doing. Would like to get the magazine, is it printed and mailed or digital? I live in Florida and was certified in 1993. Finding like-minded women to travel and dive with has always been a struggle. Your site gives me hope. Keep up the good work!

Hi Debra, so glad to give you hope. We are not a magazine yet. It’s a bit pricey to get one going right now but some time in the future we should succeed in issuing an online magazine. I’ll look for you on face book that way you can follow Lady Diver easy peasy:) Thank you for the compliment, feels awesome to be doing this:) Karma Jewell

You guys rock. I check for your updates daily. It’s a pleasure and alway an interesting read. I learn something new every time. Thanks.
It’s been way too long sense I did any diving. Most likely I will need to be re-certified. Hopeful next summer I will have all my necessary dots connect and I’ll be on my way. Keep doing what you’re doing ladies and know you are doing a great job. rita

Hi Rita, no need to get recertified just take a PADI refresher at your locale five star PADI dive shop. They are affordable, fun, and cover all the basics plus a fun dive with your instructor:) So glad you are having fun on LDM blog:) Oh hey thanks I think that would be a great article…. Refresher scuba class:)

I have a big interest in expanding our (LHDC) lady (woman) diving programs. To that extent, if we could strike a mutually beneficial relationship, I would have an interest in promoting your company (web site) to our membership.
We should talk further.
Thank you for your consideration.

Hi Girls,
Great stuff – been thinking myself that we women deserve a magazine of our own as at the moment only a limited no of ladies dive gear gets reviewed in the mags, and let’s not even mention about beauty tips and fitness.
We don’t have one (active) in Europe – so your magazine could potentially have a huge demand beyond USA too.
So if you’re looking for an European Correspondent/Ambassador…get in touch

Hi Karma
I wish you all the best! what a wonderful initiative.
Most of the women i trained had no place to find other women stories, and were feeling out of place in a male market.
Congratulations
